Hi. Apparently me and 15% of XP users have a computer crash when Service Pack
2 is installed. Computer gurus tell me this and have tried on my computer.

Normally such updates merely dock on your computer and you get to decline
their installation. Fine.

BUT SUDDENLY yesterday, there is this 5-minute countdown notice on the
screen that updates will be automatically installed!!!!!!!! I can stave it
off if I'm right at the screen clicking "update later" but it still
persists.... I've had to re-boot to an earlier date because of automatic
updates crashing my computer twice in last 24 hrs.

Any way to turn off auto update process? Or fix XP Service Pack 2 crash prob?

Check that your PC has the latest BIOS for your motherboard.
