Fair comment but I'm trying to run Rollup 2 on a setup that has only
ever run MCE 2005! I saw a similar message when I tried to install
TweakMCE. Does anybody have any idea how I can persuade the system that
it is what it is?

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center

In the right pane, look for the "Ident" value. This should read 3.0 for Media
Center 2005, or 3.1 for Media Center 2005 with Update Rollup 1. Either setting
will work for this installation. To determine if you have Update Rollup 1
installed, open Media Center and go to Settings, General, About Media Center,
Software Version.

Non Update Rollup 1: 5.1.2700.2180

Update Rollup 1: 5.1.2700.2230

A new version of TweakMCE is forthcoming. You should wait for that to come
out rather than trying to shoehorn the older version of TweakMCE into
MCE2005 with RU2.
