 A client has asked me to build a website that includes a page to accept
charitable donations via credit card. Any recommendations for web companies
who do this sort of thing?

Are you looking for someone to build the page, or someone to process the
credit cards? If the former, about any decent web developer can do it.
If the latter, you have your usual suspects - any of the usual credit
card processors such as paypal, authorize.net, your bank, etc.

PayPal is relatively inexpensive and easy to use. Follow the steps to
create a "Donate" button, add the code to your page and you're done.
