My Thinkpad T23 is not charging battery at all. The battery is tested
with
other machine and it is OK.

Battery led is burning at yellow and it looks like it is charging but
nothing happens. Battery MaxiMiser shows also that battery is under
charging but Current field is totally empty, 0.00A.

If I put charged battery on it, I can use the machine without AC.

Is there some kind of circuit burned or what? Is there any other
solutions to fix the problem except for change motherboard? Warranty
has ended a few months ago.

I had an A30 wht the same problem. I loved that A30, so I had it
checked out at the shop, and they said that the only option was a new
mainboard, which would have cost me more than the computer was worth.
I didn't want to replace it, so I bought an IBM charger II
(http://shopper-zdnet.com.com/IBM_ThinkPad_Multiple_Battery_Charger_II___battery_charger/4014-6459_15-30159071.html?tag=pl&q=IBM)
I later found them for about half price on eBay. That with a spare
battery enabled me to keep using the A30 for several more months, then
sold the entire package to a student who felt he could do a repair to
the mainboard.(would require revoving and replacing damaged
components, a task I wasn't willing to try).
