After having been away for awhile, the recent release of Windows
Desktop Search for Enterprise prompted me to try WDS again. I d/l and
installed v2.06 and - to my great delight!!! - I see that it now
indexes Outlook Journal items (along with Notes, Tasks, Contacts, etc)!
This is GREAT!!!
I saw Journal as a great way to store chronological notes, records,
etc., about 7 years ago and while everyone else seems to have abandoned
Outlook Journal, I use it all the time. I've always chafed at the
limited options for finding and using old Journal items. Having WDS
index these items for easy search/retreival is just what I always
wanted.
And it's in time for Christmas, too!
