David,

I cannot see the IE's Options->Manage Add-ons dialog. This was one of the
differences between the computer that works and the one that doesn't that I
pointed out in an earlier message.

I believe the "Manage Add-ons" option was added as part of XP SP2. If you
don't see this option then I'm assuming you're running XP SP1 or maybe even
XP Gold.

Steven,

You are correct. The computer where the tabs do not work (and I cannot see
Manage Add-ons) has SP1. The computer where it is working has SP2.

Is Windows XP SP2 required for proper operation of the tabs? The system
requirements link on toolbar.msn.com doesn't specify that it is.

Thanks,

ml

Tabbed Browsing and the MSN Search Toolbar should work correctly in SP1. On
the machine experiencing the problems, does Highlight viewer work correctly?
(IE, when you press viewer, is it displayed. When you press highligh, are
your search terms highlighted?) This feature uses the same method to load
as Tabbed Browsing, so it would be helpful to know if this is working.
(Popup Blocker and Form Fill also use the same loading technology)

Hi David,

On the machine that is experiencing problems, the highlight viewer shows
when I click that icon on the toolbar and my search terms are highlighted
when I click highlight.

This is very strange. Is there any way to totally remove the toolbar and
reintall it? I have already tried uninstalling it, rebooting, and
resintalling but that does not help. Recall that I had an older version of
the MSN toolbar (pre-tab version). Could something be hanging around from
that version that is interfering with the tabs being displayed?
