Hi Folks,
I am in desperate need of some help. I have an Audiovox
SMT 5600, with ActiveSync 3.7.1
I am unable to sync my contacts. It did originally sync 12 of them but
not in any particular order. I ran a detect and repair on Outlook 2003
(MS Office Pro) I uninstalled and reinstalled Activesync. I uninstalled
3.7.1 and installed ActiveSync 4.1, nothing seems to work. I cleaned up
all the folder and registry entries when I uninstalled the programs
just in case.
Then I deleted the 12 entries on my phone, and now it
won't even put them back. When they were in the phone, I looked
carefully at the Contact's in Outlook to see if there was something
different between the 12 it did sync up and the ones it didn't , and I
was not able to see any difference. I had 85 entries in my phone's
contact list, and I really do not want to put them in manually. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Forget it, I figured it out. It may be the long
way of doing it, But, I noticed when I created a new contact in Outlook
it did sync up. So, I openend each contact 1 at a time and just did a
cut and paste in the "Full Name" field, and it began to sync up just
fine.
In other words, you would open one of your
contacts, go to the "Full Name" field do a cut on the name so the box
is empy, then just paste the name back in and do a "Save & Close" and
it syncs up just fine.

Did you try ActiveSync v3.8? If your device is running Windows Mobile 2003
then I believe the recommended version of ActiveSync is 3.8. If you have a
Windows Mobile 5.0 device, then you should use the latest 4.x version of
ActivSync. I would also recommend starting from scratch - i.e. delete your
existing ActivSync partnership and create it afresh.

Hope that helps.
