I probably have bad news for you. Syncing with a pre-WM5 device using AS4.x
really uses legacy code, i.e AS 3.8, and I really don't expect MS to make
any changes to it. I can guarantee that issue no longer exists when syncing
a WM5 device with AS4.x. That's because the feature to filter sync by
category is gone altogether. It still transfers the category, you just
can't use it to filter what does and doesn't sync. There is nothing you can
use BTW, it's all or nothing now.
