Hi All,

Due to a recent Exchange Server crash I lost all my contacts, uggggh!
The good news is that I still have all the contacts stored on my
smartphone, I just need to figure out how to synch them back to my new
Exchange server.

I began to setup an ActiveSync partnership, then remembered a past
experience where this replaced everything on my device with that in
Outlook. Since I currently don't have any contacts in Outlook I'm
afraid I will lose everything. I'm not worried about the appts and
email on my device, but I want to make certain that I can get all of my
contacts back to Outlook/Exchange. What is the proper procedure for
making this happen?

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

To begin, perform a backup of your data on the device. Next make sure the
ActiveSync partnership is deleted before attaching the device. This way
when you setup the new partnership, you will be prompted with the "Combine
or Replace" dialog, choose Combine and the Contacts on your Smartphone
should be sync'd back.
