Sync with VPN not working

I just got a new Tmobile MDA with WM5 on it. When I log into my company VPN
for my email access with Outlook, ActiveSync just says "connecting" and never
does anything. When I disconnect from the VPN, it connects but then doesn't
sync anything and I get a window that asks if I want to Work Offline or Retry
connecting. I have a Dell Axim X50v and have not had problems syncing it
while connected to the VPN. Any ideas???

Hi,
Did you confirm that you are connected via the VPN and that the host name is
setup as an exception if it has a period in it?

Vxutil from www.cam.com can ping an internal server to confirm you are
connected.

Chris,

When I am connected to my VPN I am able to get my email on outlook - without
connecting on the VPN, I cannot get emails, so I know that I am connected (to
the VPN). Not sure what you mean or how to check whether host name is set up
as an exception or not?

Hi Glen,
If the host name has a period in it, the VPN may not fire off so you can
connect to it. There is an optuon with Windows Mobile 5.0 to specify an
exception.

The error code that I am getting is that the server is busy support code:
85010017
