The best thing would be to sync and PUSH MAIL with the exchange server, and
then you would not be depending on Outlook and on your computer for that.

The problem appears at the moment you use POP3. By definition, POP3 is a
protocol in which a client pulls the mail from the server and deletes it. At
the moment you have two clients doing that, one will see only what the other
hasn't deleted. For preventing Outlook from loosing information, the
PocketPC doesn't delete the messages automatically. But then if you choose
not to delete the messages in Outlook as well, your POP3 mailbox will grow
in size in such pace that soon you won't be able to either access it or
receive mail.

Maybe you should try to use IMAP instead of POP3 both in Outlook and in the
phone. Usually POP3 mailboxes support that. The question is if your provider
will give you a mailbox of a size that will support that growth.

I thought I had sent this once but it never showed up. I am trying to
access GMail. I use the POP feature. On my desktop I have outlook
pulling mail from pop.gmail.com. On my Q I have the same thing setup
but through wireless sync not through outlook. I hope this helps I
will provide any more information that is needed.

I'm not super familiar with GMail, but if it has an IMAP option, that would
work better. I use IMAP on my phone and on my desktop. Using IMAP
synchronizes your mailbox with the server, this way both will always stay in
sync.

Sadly, GMail uses POP3. Interestingly enough, AOL, once considered the
scourge of the internet partly due to their proprietary e-mail protocols,
now offers free IMAP accounts, and allows (authenticated) SMTP from any
ISP connection, making it ideal for mobile device use (unlike the SMTP
servers of many broadband ISPs that reject e-
mail originating "off-network.")

Absolutely- IMAP is ideal for those of us accessing the same e-mail
account from multiple devices.
