G'day all,
Am using winCE 4.20 and winXP with Outlook 2002 sp2 and Activesync 3.8
Its syncing OK with my desktop folder but cant sync Outlook. Options box
shows the Outlook folders such as Calander, Contacts, Tasks etc, but no tick
box next to them. Outlook works fine. Have reinstalled it and activesync,
run dectect & repair on Outlook, etc, etc. Have also tried all the MS
troubleshooters I can find, any ideas please.
Regards,
Dan

Hi,
What device are you using? If it is not a Pocket PC or Smartphone then you
need to contact the OEM to confirm synchronization.

Its a hp iPAQ pocket PC h4100. Since posting my message I have reinstalled
Outlook, run scanpst.exe, uninstalled then reinstalled Activesync, after
checking registry for Activesync remnants. The problem of no tick boxes
against Calender, Tasks, Notes or Contacts continues, however it does have
my Outlook mail including all of my sub-folders, which are all syncing just
fine.
To aid diagnosis, when I reinstalled Activesync and created a partnership, I
had the list of folders to select for syncing. The folders Calender, Tasks,
Notes and Contacts were included on the list but "Not Installed" was the
description. I'm confused... I know they are installed, just can't seem to
get Activesync to recognise them!

Have you run Detect & Repair of Outlook and then reinstalled ActiveSync?

Please log in for more thread options Yes Chris,
Don both detect & repair of Outlook and then reinstalled ActiveSync in that
order, but tick boxes still not there. Interesting that they are when the
iPAQ is uncradled, but as described in some previously posted messages, they
don't sync and don't remain in the Options box. I have reinstalled Outlook
twice. No luck yet. Haven't uninstalled MS Office yet, probably do that
next.
Also, having been on to your site below (thanks, its helpful), I tried to
run forminst.exe to check how ActiveSync sees Outlook. Got an error box
saying, " Microsoft Outlook not installed, instal it and try again" I keep
telling it that it is installed but its not listening yet! :-) Thanks for
your help Chris.
