It depends on what you mean by subfolders. Subfolders in email (on the
server and in outlook) can be synchronized using OTA activesync. Subfolders
in Contacts cannot. There is at least one third party application out there
that allows users to synchronize multiple levels of contacts, but I can't
remember the name offhand.
I have had no problem synchronizing multiple levels of subfolders on my
server. Public folders, however, are a different story.
