I just got the Audiovox SMT 5600, and I was wondering... one thing I
noticed is it seems the volume for the speakerphone/listening to mp3s,
etc. is a little low, even at max volume. Is there anyway to turn it
up, or is this it?

Also... seeing as how I just got the phone and I don't know the ins and
outs of it, what are some of the "must have" applications for this
phone? I know it depends what I use it for, but I'm just curious to
get an idea of what are some of the most useful apps for this phone.

Thanks

i thought this on mine, too, then i realised that there's two volume
settings - media player's and the "system" volume. turn system up high
and the speaker's actually pretty loud. annoying thing is that so is
the click when you navigate through media player which hurts your ears
through headphones...

essential apps on mine:
torch (turns screen to all white so you can find your keys in the dark
- assigned to a speeddial button)
automatic keylock - locks keypad after timeout
PHM registry editor - edits phone registry, good if you like tinkering,
don't touch it if you don't...
Tiny ebook reader

but mainly TomTom mobile for satnav - indispensible!

So how do you go about turning up the system volume? It's not the
volume control of the phone, is it? As for the click in media
player... can't you disable the clicking sounds somehow? I would think
so, at least thru a reg. editor...

One more annoying tihng I've noticed... first of all, there's no way to
close an application, so I'm forced to use task manager. Thing is,
even using task manager, I've noticed that after time, even closing all
programs, the memory slowing disappears... when you first start the
phone up, I think it's around 8.5 mb of memory. After a week, the
memory was down to 5 - 6 MB, even after closing all apps thru task
manager; not good. Is there a way around this?
