I just bought a new computer with Vista. I have my music stored on my
C drive and backed up on my external hard drive.
After setting up Windows Media Center, all my songs are listed twice.
Not the artists or albums, just the songs. If I play an album, it
plays each track twice.
I searched the data base and found this post below, but not sure if
its correct...
help?
thanks
kevin
Do you maintain more than one copy of your music on your PC hard
drive? If
not, the easiest way to clean up your music library is to flush the
MCX's
library and let Windows Media Player rebuild it. To do this, remove
and
re-add your Extender:
Launch the MCX Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Accessories -->
Media
Center --> Media Center Extender Manager), select your Extender,
click
Properties, select Remove. Next, select File --> Add a new Extender...
and
type in the 8-digit code displayed on the screen of your MCX
Note: after you do this you will need to point your MCX at your
pictures,
videos, and music content again. Also, if you have a lot of music it
will
take awhile for the library to build.
