Not to be a wiseguy, but if you've got a PPC syncing with WMDC 6 times out
of ten, a good number of people on this newsgroup would likely trade places
with you! ;-)
Kidding aside, have you tried disabling the "Enable Advanced Network
Functionality" option in Start / Settings / Connections (tab) / USB-to-PC?
(All but the earliest WM5 dvices should have it.) That sometimes inhibits
a USB sync.
