My goal is to use auto playlists to automatically sync a certain amount
of audio content to my Palm Device, a Treo 650, using Windows Media
Player 10 on my PC.

However, I have found that any auto playlist that has a restriction of
size, duration or number of items is not listed as available to sync on
the Syncronization Settings list. These type of auto playlists work
fine on the PC, but they do not show up on the list of available
playlists for automatic sync with the Palm Device. This includes auto
playlists that I create, as well as the default ones that have a size
restriction, such as the "Favorites -- One Audio CD worth" auto
playlist.

My current work around is to create a separate playlist under My
Playlists and copy the items from the auto playlist to the separate
playlist and I am able to select that separate playlist for automatic
sync.

Is this the intented behavior of auto playlists with size restrictions
to be excluded from automatic sync, or is this a bug in Windows Media
Player?

Any suggestions on how to make this work automatically?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Suggest searching the pocketpc groups for this topic... what you want to
do would be nice, but the concensus seems to be that "syncing" to the
device currently has serious problems even beyond what you have experienced.

I have found that "syncing to a memory card" using a card reader to be
far easier faster and more reliable...

with respect to "playlists" don't know of anything automatic for the
card, but have had good luck with generating, then manipulating pc asx
playlists to modify the paths to match the storage card... very easy if
you set the card's sync properties "retain folder structure" especially
if you have scriptable "search and replace" tools such as wildedit from
