Greetings,

Is there a way to have my laptop use a USB connected SPV C500 Smartphone as
a modem for internet access whilst 'on the road'?

Thanks
Larry S

I have the same issue. I have a GPRS Edge enabled cell phone with
always on internet. I was wondering if it could be used as a modem for
my laptop. I read somewhere it could be done with bluetooth.

I guess I will have to use a bluetooth dongle as the laptop has neither IR
or BT. I had hoped to use the USB cable. Thanks for the link.

The tiny manual provided with my imate SP5 seems to suggest you can use a USB
connection with that.

You seem to use Start, Accessories, Modem link and then select USB and then
put in the APN. I think you need disable active sync on the phone first.

Connect the phone and the laptopn and click activate on the phone.

The laptop will detect new new hardware, so you feed it the getting started
CD, and then puts the modem driver on. Use Control panel to set it up.

Don't know if this is a new feature to WM2005?
