Slow Contacts Sync, WM5 vs 2003 bluepost22 11-03-2006

 I just got a new Cingular 3125. It takes about 5 seconds
to find "Zimmerman." On my old 5600/WM2003, it took
less than 1 second.

I have 2000 contacts.

I guess this can't be fixed except by deleting contacts.

Any explanations on why such a big leap backwards?

I am sorry that this is a less than ideal experience - it is definitely
something that is on our radar. From the contacts app, some things that
might save you some time for searches like this are:

1) the "rolodex" screen - press and hold down for a second and it will begin
to cycle through the letters of the alphabet, allowing you to "jump" to that
section of the alphabet. This also works pressing up and then you cycle
backwards.
2) on Pocket PC you can use the letter tabs at the top to jump to a section
of the alphabet.
3) on Pocket PC you can use the scroll bar to get to the rough area of the
alphabet you are looking for.

On my qtek I would just tap 9466 (zimm) and zimmerman should pop up, this
would take less than a second. (I don't have 2000 contacts, that might be
why). What method do you use to find contacts?

I do the same thing, press 9466. It worked fine on WM2003.
