Can anyone help me please?? I am running on Windows XP Media Center 2002,
and my sister has a laptop on windows xp professional. We want to set up a
wireless network so that she can use my broadband connection, and a small
network at home so that she can share my files and use my printer. We have
run the wizards for setting up a network and for setting up the wireless
connection, and have a successful wireless adhoc connection, but for some
reason my pc isnt showing up under the MSHOME workgroup at all, and she is
unable to use my internet connection!? i am sure it is probably something
simple but i cant work out what i need to do, please can someone idiots guide
me through it?!?

I've never actually been successful in setting up a shared connection in that
manner. For simplicity, you might just go buy a wireless router and use that
to share the internet connection.

You might be able to do what's called a "bridge" between your internet
connection and you're wireless connection, and set up the sharing that way,
but it's clunky, difficult, and maybe even impossible.

Double check that the workgroup name on both computers is entered using the
same case for the letters. You might want to re-enter it on both to be
certain.

Did you enable ICS (internet connection sharing) on your computer? Not on
hers!

If you are using a free firewall on your computer, other than Windows
firewall, it may not support ICS. Other firewalls may require enabling
Gateway mode before ICS can work.
