I have my K-JAM set up with ActiveSync 4.1 to sync my contacts and calendar
with an up-to-date Exchange Server, via USB and the network.

It tries to do its thing but always ends (quickly) with the message:
"ActiveSync encountered a problem on the server. Support Code:85010014"

Help needed desperately! Thanks!

Richard,

The problem is ActiveSync and your Outlook PST file not playing nice with
each other.

I resolved this problem by doing a "Detect and Repair" in Outlook, soft
resetting my device (a Dell x50v in my case upgraded to WM5) then syncing.

Hope this helps,

Clinton,

Thanks for the fast response. Unfortunately, your suggestion did not work!
I did not think it would for two reasons, but tried it anyway:

(1) I get the same message when trying to synchronize with my exchange
server from two entirely different PCs, one on my office intranet and one
via DSL from home, with two different installations of Office/Outlook.

(2) I am not synching with a local ".pst" but directly with the Exchange
server. The message I get refers to the "Server"--I have seen similar
messages posted that refer to the "Desktop" with the same error code;
perhaps that is the problem you had?

Any other suggestions??? Anyone???

Richard,

Aye, okay... little different story. I missed the Exchange sync part of
your post. My mistake....

Do you have Exchange caching enabled? Have you tried to disable it? That
has for some users cause this same error code.

Regards,

Clinton,

I have exchange caching enabled on one desktop Outlook client, and not on
the other. Both paths fail with the same message. To be certian, I just
turned it off again and re-tried but saw no change in the error message.

Still at a loss....
