This seems to be a common problem but I haven't found a solution after
I googled, browsed thru ms support pages, newsgroups and forums.

4 out of 5 times I encounter this error. Windows Mobile Device Center
(WMDC) says synchronizing but it never completes and the the status
bar is 1/10th full for like 2 hours!

When I check the sync results I get 3-5 server busy error messages. No
error codes or numbers.

I either lose patience and disconnect or WMDC just cuts the connection
by itself.

This is really bugging me because I just upgraded to Vista and sync
with my device is so critical.

Please help. Thanks

PC and Device info:
PC OS: Windows Vista for Business
Device: Treo 750, Windows Mobile 5.0 (5.1.1.95 Build 14959.2.3.2)

Hi,

Ensure you are using WMDC version 6.1. Have you tried to delete and
recreate the partnership?

Hi Raj,

Yes I have 6.1 and I have deleted and recreated the partnerships many
times. I even did a hard reset on my device thrice and same results.

Thanks

I tried checking and unchecking the tick boxes for the different file
types to sync and I notice that the problem occurs when notes checkbox
is checked or ticked.

Notes seems to be a recurring problem even with older versions of
activesync. any solution on syncing notes?

Hi,

I would suggest you create a new Notes folder in Outlook and move all the
notes under the default folder to this new folder. Connect the device and
attempt a sync. Since notes are not available in the main folder, it will
erase the notes (if any are present) on the device. See if it sync's
successfully. If it does, try moving the notes in small sets at a time back
to the original location and allow it to sync. You might be able to narrow
down on a note that is causing this error.
