In a Windows Server 2003 system, I've added the Printers web (i.e.,
http://printserver/Printers/) under the default web and up until now, when
I've added a printer queue via the Printers and Faxes folder, they'd show up
in the Printers web and clients could connect to them from the web, getting
an RPC connection. It works perfectly.

Today I added a printer that is to be restricted to a group of people, so
the AD administrator added a security group and put in it those people who
are to have permission to print to the printer. I removed the Everyone
group and added the security group, giving it "Print" permission just like
Everyone had. Alas, the printer does not appear in the Printers web. Does
anyone know what permissions are needed by what object in order for the
printer to appear in the Printers web? I did try restarting the web and I
did try readding the Everyone group back in with only "Read" permission, but
neither of those actions helped.

You may also want to post in one of the MS printing newsgroups where the
printer experts hang out. Offhand I would try adding it again with default
settings to see if at least that works and then modifying permissions form
there. Reviewing the link below may help. Though it refers to Windows 2000
it should also apply to W2003. --- Steve
