Hi

We are currenlty considering to implement Windows Smartphone devices with
remote sync with Exchange. But one area that we are conserned about is
security.
Data that is stores on the device (documents and mail primarely) how can we
make sure that this info is secure, even if the device is lost. Yes, we are
aware about remote wipe. But, it can be some time between the device is lost
and IT is informed about this. Are the data encrypted in any way, or is it
possible to do that?

/A.

Andy, you might want to take a look at this page
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/articles/msfp.mspx

I can't answer your question about whether or not the device encrypts data
or what algorith it uses but, I did want to mention.

In addition to remote wipe you can configure the device to wipe after too
many failed password entries. That might cover you depending on your level
of security.

Keep in mind that the wipe, remote or otherwise, does not wipe data from
removable storage cards.
