I've just received a document regarding end dates of security updates for 2
products. This really concerns me and I'd have to ask why you are
discontinuing security updates so early on these 2 particular products while
extending support through 2010 and up for products like Windows 2000 Server?

Here are the details:

Security Updates/Service Pack Support Retired

Windows SRV 2003 GOLD - 13-Mar-2007
Windows XP Pro SP1 - 17-Sep-2006

This will put some pressure on my organization to ensure the systems do not
fall out of compatibility and is of great inconvenience.

Windows Server 2003 should all be running SP1. XP should all be running
SP2.

Paul,

The "you" that you address is not to be found here.
This is a peer support group, you are not speaking to MS corporate.

http://microsoft.com/lifecycle

The lifecycle has been published for a very long time

You are comparing apples and oranges when you compare end of support
dates for a product (ex. Windows 2000) with the end of support date for a
specific config of a product (ex. with SP x).
