Thanks in advance for any assistance.

My developers have requested that they be allowed to remotely use SQL
Enterprise Manager (SQL 2000) to access our databases while off-site.

I used the Security Confoguration Wizard to create a security policy and
checked SQL 2000 as a role. I applied the policy. SQL 2000 now appears as a
"selected" role in the Wizard, but if I view the Security Configuration
Database, it appears as Uninstalled, Disabled.

I've been through this several times. Any idea?

Can you share the policy you are applying?

Sorry Steve, I'm not sure what you're asking by sharing the policy. I've
not attempted to distribute the policy to any other servers.

If I use the SCW Viewer to analyze the resulting XML file, I get the a
section titled : Misconfigured Services, where MSSQLSERVER appears as having
a policy start-up mode of automatic, but a System Start-Up mode of
uninstalled. SQL 2000 is indeed installed and working.

I need the output XML file that you got at the completion of the wizard.
If would also be very helpful if you could include the results of the "sc
query" command...
