Secure SFU Server for NIS Benoit 11-22-2006

Hello,
I have set up Server for NIS ou my domain, but I am asked to secure it (for
instance to allow NIS request only to specific IP adresses and prevent anyone
from retrieving the passwd map). For standard consideration, I can't set up
firewall on my domain controller.

I have had this idea: using IPsec rules to allow a specific subnet to
communicate with Server for NIS. But I have pointed out that NIS use a
portmapper (obviously) therefore the port number for ypserver might change
(and actually often changes).

Does anyone have a solution to make the ypserver port number static ? Does
anyone have other ideas to secure NIS ?

Kind regards,
Benoit
