Anando,
I am looking for same answer as jvtruss but I am running Vista Ultimate.
I have disassociated the .scr type but do not know what to re-associate it
with in Vista.

Any guidance please?

scr types are executable files for the screen saver function. You can run
them just by double clicking them.

There is no association with any program. scr files are programs.

A follow-up; I was directed elsewhere to this:

It worked.

Thank you to all who participated.
