Hi All.

Just wondering if anyone had tried the Boxwave Cleartouch pda screen
protector.
If so, I have a question for you.
Is the feel of the plastic sticky when writing?
I bought the PalmOne version and it truly sucks rocks!
It's so sticky and, perhaps too thick that it is completely messing up
the graffiti recognition.
I've used these in the past and not had this problem, but this is
awful!
I'd just use a piece of scotch tape but it blocks the virtual graffiti
area of the T/X. I love the feel of the scotch tape.
I'm very disappointed with the PalmOne version.
But, I guess it's not too surprising coming from a company that makes
a hard aluminum case that the palm rattles around in, and doesn't have
any cutouts for hotsync cable, power button, speaker, earphone, or
stylus retrieval!
Just who's in charge of this place?!
With Sony and Handera not making palms anymore we're stuck with only
this manufacturer. It's a shame. It's an ok product, but some
competition would be nice.

Thanks.
JB

If you like a smooth, slick surface for graffiti, Turtle Wax
Finish 2001 is great stuff. I've found it can greatly increase
graffiti recognition. Use just a tiny amount to cover the
protector, let it dry a moment to a haze, then buff off. It
makes the protectors last virtually forever, too. I read this
on a PDA tips & tricks site years ago.

What do you suppose the chances are that I'd have that exact product
in my garage?! Amazing! I knew I had some car wax but I never
thought I'd nail it like that! :>)
So I tried it and it instantly improved the handwriting recognition
and the stylus doesn't stick anymore.
Great advice!
Thank you very much!

I just tried some half dried old Turtle Wax (Super Hard Shell Car
Wax). Not much difference. But it hides the smooth patch on the screen
protector and retained the anti-glare finish of the screen protector.
I _think_ the stylus is a tad smoother, but I'm not sensitive and
don't use handwriting recognition.

I sure wouldn't try any such thing on the screen itself, but felt safe
trying it on a screen protector. I am a bit concerned about getting
particles of dried wax in my PDA when I buffed the wax. So I would
emphasize the word "tiny" in the directions (I used a "small" amount).

So thanks to JohnB for asking the question and lisa in mass for
answering.

What do you use instead of handwriting recognition?
Are you using a TX?
I've tried all of the keyboards that I can find short of Fitaly.
I don't think I want to cover up the virtual keyboard area of the TX
so Fitaly wouldn't work for me, unless they have a hack like they used
to.

Thanks
