Hi
I have just upgraded from an Orange C500 smartphone (2003) to a voda WM5
smartphone (an htc device, voda model v1240).
I am having trouble getting the IMAP4 email to work correctly when using
GPRS (or WLAN) over the internet to our Exchange 2003 server. It works fine
in my old phone over gprs, however when I try it with exactly the same
settings in the new WM5 phone it just says 'Connecting...', sets up the GPRS
connection, then comes back with an error message after a while "An error
occurred while downloading messages. Verify that you have network coverage
and that your account information is correct and then try again."
My account information is correct, I have coverage, and the WM2003 device
sat next to it on my desk connects and fetches the mail ok. Also I know the
settings are correct because if I enable WLAN on the device and connect via
that it works fine.
Can someone tell me how I can go about diagnosing what the issue is? Can I
enable any additional logging on the device so I can see what is the actual
problem, rather than some vague error message? Has anyone seen this before on
WM5 devices?
I am wondering if it's security related, something like the WM5 device is
requiring SSL or something that the server isn't set up for?
Thanks for any help!
Matt
