Aloha to us all...

I have a Audiovox 5600.

Question 1: I notice that when I, for example, go Start > Settings > Phone >
Call Options... I have two boxes (one of which is checked), but there is NO
indication as to what these boxes are, i.e., to the right of the boxes, there is
no text or label.

I hope that makes sense. It bothers me that I don't understand the phone that
well; other than that, I am very much pleased with the purchase and service.

Question 2: I am thinking of getting GPS. I purchased a 1 GB miniSD and
inserted it into the phone. The phone is supposed to be BT compatable. Does
that mean that I just need a GPS BT receiver and software to use it? Does the
screen size compromise the usability of this function?

Question 3: Is there a way that I could make my own ringtones? I would love to
have Hawaiian specific ringtones (songs).

Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to respond here or to my email: marvinjs(at)verizon(dot)net.

2 - Yes, you will need a BT GPS receiver. As to software, it depends on what
you want to do with it.

1. I think the 2 missing labels are supposed to be
"Any Key Answers" (unchecked by default)
"Show SIM Contacts" (checked by default)

Does that seem right? Is the 2nd of the 2 boxes checked?

3. the SMT 5600 will play mp3 ringtones, so if you have an mp3 of a
song you want to use as a ringtone, you can use that mp3 as your
ringtone. If you want to edit the file to something shorter, you can
use a free editor like Audacity ( http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ ) to
crop the song as needed.

There are many other ways to make ringtones but mp3s are the easiest
and highest quality (in my opinion).
