I think SEM is better then SEO. SEO is a just son of SEM ;)

Hmm. Tough question.

Depends on if you want to get relevant traffic from pre-interested
customers for FREE (SEO).

or

If you want to PAY monthly for sponsored links that only get clicked
on (or looked at) by demographics of high school kids (SEM).

I suppose if you can't get natural traffic from SEO and your
traditional advertising isn't working - your last resort to get
website traffic is SEM.

I'm going to go with: "BOTH". You spent a fortune building your
website and maintaining it; that's wasted if you don't advertise it
properly. There are many internet marketing tasks that I don't
consider to be "SEO" or "SEM".

Why not: "Internet Marketing" ?

The best of BOTH worlds =3D "OPTIMIZATION of ROI"; Do the math.
