Hi all,
i have heard that with Windows Mobile 5.0 is possible to execute
applications designed for PocketPC Phone even with a SmartPhone.
Is this true ???
Thanks

Generally no, not true. SP does not have touch screen and does not have some
controls (e.g. buttons) commonly used on PPC applications, so you likely to
run into issues with these.

It is possible to create applications to run on both PPC and SP platforms.

What is true is sometimes you can load a PPC app on a Smartphone, but as
Ilya pointed out, you don't have a touch screen which the programmer likely
assumed you had when creating the application. I have had some limited luck
with smartphone apps loaded on a PPC. The catch there is that you don't have
the numeric keyboard assumed by smartphone programmers. If your PPC has a
keyboard though you can often get around that.

The issue at this time is much like trying to run windows without a mouse.
Many programs/programmers consider this option and provide keyboard
shortcuts, but often you run into stuff you just need to click. Same with a
PPC app on a smartphone, you would quickly find something you need to tap.
