I would like to create an application that would allow one or two other
people in the office to reset a user's password in case I am not available.

Our DC is a W2K3 Enterprise server.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dependshow you want to create this "application".

Do you just want to throw them a script to reset user password? If this is
the case, you can use VBscript to manipulate ADSI object and take target
users' logon name as input parameter. Check technet's scripting repository
for some samples:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/scripts/default.mspx?mfr=true

Hope this helps...

Hello ChuckN,

On the OU where all user accounts are in, DELEGATE CONTROL for the users
you like and install them the adminpak.msi on there local workstation.

Best regards

The real problem might be granting the set password right without giving
away more, like the privilege to create and delete accounts...
