All,
I have a IPAQ 3635 with a broken digitizer but the LCD is fine.
What I would like to do is use it as electronic picture frame and have
it run a slide show. What I was wondering if is anyone has
accomplished this. I have read of people installing Linux on the
Ipaqs. What I want to do is strip it down to just having a slide show
and pictures. (Obviously minus the touchscreen input.)

Anyone know of a website with examples?

Not likely.

If you really want to strip out everything but the minimal needed for
your slide show, you will need to redo the ROM. Unless you are good at
low-level (device driver and lower) programming, you will need to load
some sort of operating system. If you want to use a modified version
of Windows CE (the operating system used for Pocket PC, etc.) you will
need to use Platform Builder from Microsoft, which costs >$10,000 U.S.
(I don't use it, so I'm not sure).

Why not write some app. for that?
Adobe Reader can use the whole screen for it's splash screen, so it
should be doable.

But why linux? Win CE could do it as well if you accomplsish to start
your app without having a touchscreen...

Greetings
