I'm shopping around for a new laptop to replace a four year old Dell
Latitude, I picked up in 2001. I loved the laptop. Loved the small size
and lightness, decent keyboard and screen.

Now, it's strange: All I see in the stores are hese laptops that are
the size of small suitcases. I guess a lop of people need to be able to
edit film and run a recording business from Starbucks. Me? Just give me
4 pounds or less, fast, small, goos keyboard and screen. I only run the
MSFT Office suite (reluctantly) and some financial software, most of
the time.

I'd consider a MAC, but don't want to pay a fortune for OFFICE on top
of the MAC premium. I'm also skittish about some brokerage sites built
for IE and my office uses MSFT Exchange.

Thoughts.
