I have a problem with my XDA Orbit, running extremely slow & locking up -
when checking running programs in "memory" it wont close down text messaging
saying the program is in use/not responding etc.

Is it possible to repair/install - as far as I remember the XDA wasnt
supplied with any OS discs.

Thanks

Andy

Reinstall discs aren't required because the base OS is in ROM. To
return the XDA to factory defaults, you will need to perform a "hard
reset". To do this, tap on "Start" > "Settings" > "'System" > "Clear
Storage", then follow the prompts.

Note that this will wipe out all of your PIM data and installed
programs.

Before that, have you tried a 'soft reset'? Typically a physical process
having you poke the stylus into a small hole somewhere on the device. This
is like re-booting a PC. Anything saved is preserved, anything in memory is
lost, but there is usually not much like this.. an open word document
possibly...something like that. It does forcibly shut down all programs,
though some may restart due to startup settings.

Sven is quite right. A "soft reset" is always the first port of call.
A "hard reset" is a last-ditch move. I sort of presumed that you had
already tried a soft reset. If not, you can do this by pushing the
sharp end of the stylus into the little hole on the lower left-hand
side of the Orbit.

Thanks for your help, full restore was required to clear the problem which
was what I was hoping to avoid, but at least its sorted now !
