I received an error message identical to an MS Article 307545 (Registry Hive)
and proceeded to fix. I was able to complete step one. Then, as Windows was
opening and I could view the administrator desktop, it gave me and
MICROSOFTSMLBIZ error message (SQL) and locked up the computer. I then
proceeded to do a Windows repair. Now, in using a resource CD for Windows XP
Media Center Edition, it gets locked up during the repair/reinstall while
“Installing Components” and suddenly the monitor goes blank for about 3
seconds, reappears, the hard drive activity diminishes and the CD/DVD drive
no longer is reading the CD.
I have ran the boot utility to determine if there are hardware problems with
all hardware passing these tests. Each time I try to boot, the system is
aware that it is trying to install Windows and asks for the SP2 disk to
continue. Otherwise, it is locked up and I have no other alternatives as far
as I can see. Any suggestions?
