Anyone know how to remove a password on a laptop harddrive ?
I plugged it into an Ibm 600X and a password box comes up and
the machine won't do anything.

Please log in for more thread options
you will need to go into the bios (F2 on my dell) on start up and unselect
password protect

Hard drive passwords are EXTREMELY secure. The intent is to insure that
the data never falls into the "wrong hands" by making the entire drive
useless. This is implemented directly in the drive itself, and there is
no easy way around it.
