I have very cleverly (as I thought) fitted my MCE remote receiver
behind a handy smoked glass panel at the front of my case. It seemed
like a good idea to prise off the red plastic front to the receiver
before installing it inside the case.
The problem I now have is that the remote only works within a very
restricted range (angle and distance); outside of this it makes the
red light on the receiver flash on but doesn't do anything else. It's
clearly able to communicate but presumably without enough "grunt".
I know that others have mounted the receiver internally, so it must
work somehow. Do I need to replace the red plastic front - does it act
as some sort of lens and focus the signal onto the receiver?
