Hello,
I am unable to change advanced port settings for my com ports or modems. I
get a message stating I do not have write privileges in the registry. I am
the only user of the laptop other than the built in administrator. If I log
in as the built in administrator I still am not able to change those
settings. I have read 50 or so posts and have tried the regtool vbs script
to unlock registry to no avail. Any one heard of this problem before?

The one time that happened to me, I just went to view|permissions in regedit
and I was able to give myself write privledges right then and there.

I tried that. When I tried to go to regedit it said regedit locked by
administrator and I am the administrator. So I logged in as the built in
admin and that didn't work either.

Thanks for the reply.
