I've tried installing Resco Explorer for Pocket PC v5.41 on my Windows
Mobile 5 phone (verison vx6700), but unfortunately I'm getting a
"RescoExploer_Pocket Gear is not a valid Pocket PC application. Stange.
What I'm really looking for is registry editor and more robust file manager.
Any ideas, or recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Try the version for smartphone, cousin. Google and nab! I use it on my
2125--works just fine.

Uh, Doug. You were right with the Phone Edition version of Resco. The 6700
is a PPC Phone Edition. Are you running the application you got on your PC
with the 6700 connected via AS? That's typically how you install Windows
Mobile apps. The other option requires downloading or copying a .cab file
to the PPC and running that file on the PPC.

It is not a Smartphone according to MS.

That's a Pocket PC, not a Smartphone. You're in
the wrong group. You want

microsoft.public.pocketpc.phone_edition

If you have a touchscreen, you have a Phone
edition of the PPC, not an SP.

Use the Pocket PC version of whatever software
you look at.
