I have several recurring appointments that occur on the first Sunday
of the month, for example. If I set up a recurring appointment in
Outlook this way, then when it synchronizes to my Windows Mobile 5
smartphone (Pantech PN820, using ActiveSync 4.5) then the recurrence
instead says something
like "Day 2 of every month." Well obviously, day 2 is not always a
Sunday, so it ends up being wrong after the first month. My only
options are:
Day 2 of every month
Every March 2
Once
Every Sunday
What gives? Why isn't "The 1st Sunday of every month" an option? Is
there a workaround to actually set up a recurrence like this on a
Windows Mobile Smartphone, other than adding the appointments
individually? I also have a Treo 700WX (Windows Mobile 5.0 ... not
smartphone version) and it has this option (and an entirely different
way of handling recurrences).
Is it all Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone phones that doesn't have this,
or just versions for certain phones? I asked a friend with a Motorola
Q (Windows Mobile 5.0 for Smartphone) and he doesn't have that
particular recurrence pattern either. Honestly, in the business world
how many monthly appointments occur on the same day of the month?
None, because you'd never have one Saturday or Sunday. It's always
something like "The 2nd Wednesday of every month." It just seems
silly that a device meant to synchronize with Outlook would not have
this option. Anyone have a workaround? Third party solution maybe?
