Configuration:
- got this error when I had Hauppauge 150 PVR and ATI HDTV All in Wonder
cards installed
- tried removing the ATI card and moving the Hauppauge card to other PCI
slots, same problem

Software:
XP Media center edition 2005
- Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP MCE 2005 installed
- KB908250 installed
Basically I have all the current updates installed.

I also have the latest drivers for Hauppauge 150 installed.

I get the Recording failed to start error on almost all of my scheduled
recordings. On rebooting the machine, sometimes a recording succeeds but it
is very rare.

Event viewer shows:
Source: Media Center Receiver
Event ID: 3
TV tuner encountered an error. (0xc004050b) Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II TvTuner
There is another event id 0 with source Media Center Scheduler for which the
description is not available. This event is raised at the same time as the
one with source Media Center Receiver.

On searching for this error, I see that folks have encountered it with other
TV tuner cards as well. Seems to be a pervasive problem but there doesn't
seem to be a good fix or workaround for it. Saw that someone suggested
uninstalling AIM but that seems unrelated, don't have AIM anyway.

I didn't have any such problems a few months back so it seems likely to be
some problem that was recently introduced. Haven't gone throught the process
of uninstalling MCE updates.

Any ideas or suggestions to fix this? Would be happy to provide any debug
info needed. Thanks.
