As of now Recorded TV is a DVR-MS extension only.

Not directly with MC, but you can burn a standard DVD after recording.

James is correct
After you have the TV recorded you then can burn the DVR-MS file to a DVD
format.

While that is true, I don't see a way to edit out commercials using the
editing program I use, Premiere Elements. It doesn't recognize that file
format. Also When I schedule a program to be recorded, it starts
recording 3-4 minutes before the actual program starts and doesn't end
the recording for several minutes after the program has ended. This
DVR-MS file format is very inconvenient, but I guess necessary for
digital rights management (copyright issues). I can't think of any other
reason, can any of you?
