Well I scheduled a tv recording and i disconnected the online connection to
play online for the Xbox 360 and maybe a few hours later i went to watch it
and only 16 minutes of it was recorded...

Assuming you set the times correct, how much free space is in the recording
storage folder?

well probably only a quarters worth of recording is in use and the times set
for the recording are correct..but does disconneting the internet create
issues even though there is still local connection?

If you are recording TV from cable or ant. the internet connection is not
required, so it should not interfere with anything.
If recording TV from the internet, naturally internet connection is required.
Try to do exactly what you did before, making sure you have ample storage
space for the period of time of recording and see what happens, all the
obvious things seem to be OK.
