100% uptime is practically impossible :P
However, my own host recently updated their whole set of servers at the
data center with something called Network Attached Storage (NAS). This
means your data is stored on multiple fully operational servers, and when
a request arrives, it is directed to the server with the least load.
Should one server fail, in a matter of a minute or so, the NAS detects
that the server is down and routes requests to the remaining operational
servers. At least, that's how I understand it :)

I've never had a major outage, or even a major problem hosting with
Netfronts since 2001.
