 I've just installed WDS. I've set it to index my files which are stored on an
NTFS volume on a windows NT4 server.

Since I have installed it I have had several errors where I have been unable
to save a Word (2002) document that I have been editing. Word reports that
the document is read-only. I can save the file onto my desktop and then
manually overwrite the old version without any problems.

Is it possible that WDS is locking the file so as to make it read-only? If
so, is there a solution?

 Not WDS. Could be an overzealous Anti-Virus though...

I've now set WDS to not index .wbk files (word backup files). I haven't had
any problems since, but will keep testing and post back in a few weeks. (BTW
my antivirus is symantec 10.0)
