Am I misremembering, or didn't that used to be TUCO[Windows]S. Glad
they woke up (if that's what happened <g>).

My recollection was that the W initially stood for 'Windows', but as
the site expanded to other platforms they changed it to 'Worthwhile',
however it seems we're both wrong (but thanks for prompting me to
check it out):

1993 -- Tucows launches its content business in Flint, Michigan

* The origins of what is now Tucows began in Flint, Michigan in
1993. At that time, while working for local libraries, Scott
Swedorski noticed the public's increasing interest in the World
Wide Web and used his personal website to offer downloadable
software. He dubbed this service TUCOWS -- an acronym for The
Ultimate Collection of Winsock Software -- which quickly gained
recognition as the first site to offer software on a "freeware"
or "shareware" basis.

IIRC Flint, Michigan is where Michael Moore hails from - must be
something in the air...

I wonder if it was ever Windows between Winsock and Worthwhile. Well,
anyway, it's good to see they've grown. It was a canonical resource
back during The Windows Decade; it probably still is in this one.

OT, but you misremember. Moore is from Davison, MI. If you are still
interested in what's in the Flint air, see here:
