No?

Vulcan
Cold Fusion
Hot fusion in ZETA, ca 1958
The Steady State Universe
The "locked" rotation of Mercury

I can think of a lot of others, but they're rather specialized and less
widely known.

The history of science is full of "discoveries" that have later been
discredited. So what?

First seen by Lescarbault a physician not a scientist.
Debunked by scientists.

> Cold Fusion
I don't think that anyone has said "mistake" about this? MIT said mistake
but that's another story.
If my memory serves me, I think that there are over one hundred lab's doing
CF as I write.

"Cold fusion has been systematically debunked by the establishment ever
since its discovery in 1989, despite the fact that hundreds of researchers
have continued to research with occasional amazing results"
http://www.wanttoknow.info/coldfusion
There are dozens of these - try Google - MIT coldfusion

> Hot fusion in ZETA, ca 1958
Still wasting money I'm afraid. No one has said we are wrong about hot
fusion.
Is this not the reason for the above?

> The Steady State Universe
The big bang is in deep dodo and sooner or later this will be back.
BTW Hoyle maintained his belief in his theory all of his life.

> The "locked" rotation of Mercury.
This one is a bit tame. If several people can look through a telescope and
see it and a spacecraft is in orbit about it-----
Nineteenth century astronomy is not difficult to disagree with. How does
someone who is dead say I made a mistake?

Let's have them, I may be able to manage.

Yes I know " the computer that you are using was invented by science". Yawn,
post office engineer--------bla de bla?

I like the way that you have taken the quote from another thread and applied
it to this one.
It's a bit naughty, but it all adds to life's rich tapestry.

This is it
"You see, if science wants to be the good guy it will have to say "I'm
wrong" occasionally; something it never does".
